Dec 20, 2001: I am looking at the windward/leeward stats for run2 (the first run I analyzed here) on a 100-meter grid.

I first extract all the windward basins:

and clip to the red rectangle (40 km off each end) for the red bars on the histogram.

and the leeward basins:

and clip to the red rectangle for the blue bars on the histogram.

I combine these:

The clipped area (which turns out to be a rectangle in this model run) is used for the histogram:

The basins I will analyze are those that are

• windward or leeward
• larger than 250 sq km
• entirely within the clipping rectangle
