Computers
The lab has many computer systems for use in research, instruction, image processing and production. Computer systems now include:
  • Unix Workstations
    • 8-node Pentium II, Linux, Beowulf cluster computer
    • 5 Pentium Linux, computers
    • 1 Sun Ultra, Solaris computer
  • PC's
    • 5 Pentium III PC's
    • 12 Pentium II PC's
    • 2 Pentium PC's
    • Several Pentium Notebooks
  • Apple/Mac
    • 2 Powermacs
    • Several Macintosh Laptops
In addition the Planetary sciences group has 2 Solaris workstations, 3 Linux workstations, a Windows workstation, and a Windows laptop.
Lab and Field Equipment
  • 1 Perkin Elmer Lambda 19 spectrometer
  • 2 portable spectrometers for field work
  • 1 portable custom-built CCD camera
  • FLIR instrument for taking infrared readings
